Japan Industrial Study Tour September 19 - 26 2023

Observe the real roots of Lean, Six Sigma, TQM and Hoshin Kanri at their source. Visit the organisations where these concepts were born. See for yourself not only how it all came together but how it looks today and where it might be going in the future. Formulate your own plan of how to emulate the best of what you see.

Quote from the late CEO of participants in a previous DHI Industrial Study Tour of Japan. ‘Over the years we have spent many tens of thousands of Pounds on sending our key managers on courses at the leading business schools. They got more out of this trip to Japan than from all of those courses put together!’

How do I book? We are taking names and details right now and will commence bookings later this year when the costs and full information have been finalised by JUSE in Japan. Previous similar events have been two weeks and we are currently hoping to make similar arrangements. Please indicate your interest by posting david@hutchins.co.uk

At this stage we are only collecting contact details. The actual programme will be published as soon as they become available but please keep checking here as we will publish everything we know.

DHIQC 2 Day A2A Conference The application of the Quality related sciences to the challenge of Sustainable Packing. The event will also include several other aspects of the 17 UN SDGs

This will be the third DHIQC annual conference in recent years. The object of the ongoing theme A2A refers to ‘Adversity to Advantage. How to make your organisation the best in class. Progressively we have encouraged our students to present papers at our conferences as part of their development. This has proved attractive to delegates in seeing what they have achieved as a consequence of their course work. For example, one student actually saved his company over $3m in an improvement project and was promoted on the strength of it. Another has recently improved a process from taking 5 days down to 5 hours! This year our students are being encouraged to present papers related to Sustainable packaging as the main theme. This was a suggestion by one of our students on our Diploma in Quality Leadership.

DHIQC 2 Day Conference - Adversity to Advantage Conference Series

Many people from around the World joined us for this event held on the 17th and 18th November 2021 for a 2 Day Conference, the second event in the Adversity to Advantage Conference Series. In this online event we will bring together business leaders to discuss two key topics:

The power of a quality culture as a competitive advantage and the means to achieve the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Presentations can be viewed on the DHIQC Vimeo website. Please contact us fir the Link David@hutchins.co.uk

A Quality Culture is the recognition amongst all employees in a business that quality should be achieved for its own sake, and not just to meet regulatory approval. So whilst it’s clear that having a quality culture will lead to employee productivity and achieving a competitive advantage, how many UK organisations are actually embedding a culture of quality? How many Quality Professionals are exerting influence at board level? On Day 1 of the conference we will hear from industry professionals who will present their own experiences and what they percieve to be the drivers and blocks for achieving a quality culture.

How can the Quality profession make a real difference to sustainability?

Socially and environmentally responsible practices are an increasing talking point for consumers looking to advocate brands. Sustainability is one of the big issues of the current business landscape and business leaders and marketers will know the dangers of a superficial approach to the subject, with worries over greenwashing and customer backlash growing. Many professionals are now asking how sustainable their strategy is, or even how to get started.  Michelle Carvill, the author of 'Sustainable Marketing - How to drive profits with purpose'  is an expert in embedding sustainability in to your business plan. Opening the second day of the conference, Michelle will outline why business leaders need to consider the sustainability factor and why they are best placed to answer the long-term questions that are holding business back. What are businesses doing to move sustainability onto the list of core values? On Day 2 we welcome influencial speakers from the world of Quality who will present on this topic.

The 2019 International Quality Awards

Many joined us on Wednesday 27 November 2019 at The Grand Connaught Rooms, in partnership with leading global certification body NQA.

The International Quality Awards celebrates excellence in the quality sector. Judged via a rigorous evidence-based process, these awards acknowledge the contribution of the quality profession in enhancing the reputation of organisations around the world.

2019 is also the centenary of the CQI. So to mark our milestone anniversary, we will be celebrating the quality profession too: its evolution over the last 100 years and its role in the rise of emerging technology.

At a landmark point in the CQI’s history, we are especially proud not just to reward quality and auditing talent but to laud their contribution to the future of quality.
